Lost in Cyberspace Limbo

Well, I experienced my very first tragedy as a writer. 

Several story idea documents were corrupted during a computer glitch, and they won’t open. They are officially lost to Cyberspace. After Googling several ways on how to recover lost files, crying over it, praying that God would magically restore these files, and crying myself to sleep, I came to a sort of peace with it.

Still, I take comfort in this fact—the ideas are still in my head. Sure, they’re not written down and threshed out like I wanted them to be, but God gave me the desire and love of writing, which I still have, and the time to write them down again. It’s going to suck, and it may not be as good as the original idea, but I’ll still be able to write, even if my computer crashes again.

Although, I’m not sure if I could survive another one of these fiascos! That’d be too much to ask. ;P Haha! Anyway, I’ll be starting at least three, if not more, stories from scratch. This will be an adventure for sure, especially with this summer free of classes (I'm almost finished with my freshman year! Three cheers for this happy college student ^_^)!

My mantras through all this (college and writing, plus you know, eating and sleeping if I have time for that) has been Philippians 4:13 and Psalm 46:10. 

            "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13  (for obvious reasons)

and 

            "He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, 

            I will be exalted in the earth.” - Psalm 46:10

It's been good to slow down sometimes and just breathe. "Be still, and know that I am God." I need that reminder a lot, especially when I'm rushing and running through life until I finally trip on my feet and fall hard on my face. There's even a comma after "Be still," as if to say, "Close your eyes, take a deep breath, let it out, look at me... I am God." And that's a comfort too. There is someone watching over me, and I know he has plans for me, even if I can't see them. 

Also, wonderful news! I received the galley for the Spinner and the Slipper from Rooglewood Press, and I'm reading through it. It's terrific! The editing team has done a wonderful job with it. I'm adding a few finishing touches that hopefully they will approve of, and then it's off to the press! ;) I can't express how excited I am about this book. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.
